Our Practice
Sage-Femmes Rouge Valley Midwives (SRVM) is a new midwifery practice currently comprised of four midwives serving the southeast Scarborough, Pickering and Ajax areas and offering French-language services. We have privileges at Rouge Valley Health System (RVHS) locations in Scarborough and Ajax. One of the ways in which we are special is in our inclusion of a Community Advisory Board (CAB) that meets regularly to advise the practice on many aspects of our care. These include client intake, care policies and protocols, and liaising with the community that we serve. The CAB is part of our decision making team, and is a strong support for midwifery care in our community.
We are committed to providing primary care within the full scope of midwifery practice and supporting women’s choice in all aspects of care. We promote home birth as an appropriate place for low-risk women to give birth and we support women planning a home VBAC. We are anticipating growing to a six-midwife practice over time.
